Mechatronics Technician

Based: Gospel Oak (2 min stroll from the Overground station)

Salary: £40,000 to £45,000

Our Product Development Team needs a skilled technician to support our robotics engineers. This new role at Shadow will involve taking responsibility for key elements of our development process. Tasks would include making parts in the workshop, running tests, assembling parts, validating modifications and supporting the engineering team wherever possible. Ultimately you will help our team be more productive during the development of our robot systems.

 

This role is wholly based in the London office (a 2-minute walk from Gospel Oak station), so you can access the hardware and help us develop and test the solutions.

Accountabilities

Enable us to capture and prevent issues in robots we develop.

Assembling robots and contributing to documentation

Working with the team to devise test plans for new components and systems.

Making sure our development and testing space and equipment is maintained.

You’ll also work closely with other teams to continue achieving superb customer service, efficiency, and efficacy.

Your skills and experience will show many of the following:

Must have

Experience in a technical support managerial capacity

Experience with testing and debugging electronics

Experience of setting up and running tests on electro-mechanical systems

Accurately recording & analysing data

Able to assemble prototype electro-mechanical systems

Able to write clear documentation for tests and processes

Competence in soldering small wires and electronic components

Nice to haves:

Proficiency in reading electrical and electronic schematics

Experience working with complex miniaturised surface mount PCBs

Comfortable working on a linux command line

Experience with scripting/automation

Some experience of MCAD and ECAD software tools.

An interest in robotics
