Guest Posting for Shadow Robot

While we tend to do blog posts in-house, we do welcome relevant, compelling, and original content from experienced writers. Articles must provide real value for our readers and adhere to our guidelines below.

We can provide a link back to your site and/or professional social media channels along with a bi-line and a professional image. This will be placed where we see fit on the guest post, often underneath the article.

Shadow Robot reserves the right to refuse content and remove links and bios from submitted posts.

No Payment

We currently do not offer payment for articles. We can offer to promote the article on our social media channels (contact us for stats). We can also promote a selected number of your other works on our social media channels providing they are relevant to the robotics industry. We’re open to discussing other agreements too such as including your article in our company newsletter which goes out to our well-nurtured subscribers list.

Submission Requirements

We are ONLY looking for experienced writers within the robotics industry. We accept guest articles on a case-by-case basis unless agreed otherwise.

You can either submit a short pitch (max 200 words) of your article (multiple suggestions are welcome, but please limit to three) or submit a draft of your article that meets the below requirements to contact@shadowrobot.com. Please include “guest blog” or similar in the email subject line.

Articles must include:

  • Original content in 1,000 words or less.
  • A descriptive and compelling title for the post.
  • At least one relevant image (stock photo is fine, see the last point about image credit).
  • Proper use of British English spelling and grammar.
  • An author bi-line tied to previous writing or experience within the robotics industry.
  • If desired, links to professional social media accounts and a professional headshot.
  • References to any statistics used.
  • For any images, photos or graphics by other companies or individuals, please provide the correct attribution and ensure it adheres to creative commons license.

Once reviewed and approved, Shadow Robot will publish the article to www.shadowrobot.com/blog

Article Topics

We accept timely and relevant articles based on the following topics:

  • Robots in extreme environments, e.g. nuclear, oil & gas, deep sea.
  • Robots within pharma, bio-medical, agriculture, manufacturing, space.
  • Robots and machine learning and/or artificial intelligence.
  • Teleoperation.
  • Telepresence and avatars.
  • Robots in e-health.
  • Smart grasping, motion planning and robot dexterity.
  • Robots and 5G, big data.
  • Inspiring women within the robotics industry.
  • Articles related to recent and relevant robotic news.

Terms and Disclosure

Shadow Robot reserves the right to edit content, spelling, grammar, etc. upon approval from the author.

We reserve the right to refuse to publish any works submitted for review for any reasons, which it is not obligated to disclose to the guest author. Reasons for rejecting a guest article include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Inaccurate or poorly sourced information or facts.
  • Poorly written and/or excessive grammatical or spelling errors.
  • Irrelevance to the blog, lacking focus.
  • Product push or sales pitches.
  • Too many or unnatural use of links.

Shadow Robot also reserves the right to remove any published works by a guest author from www.shadowrobot.com without warning or explanation to the author. All original content submitted by the guest author will remain the intellectual property of the author.
