APRIL
Manufacturing
APRIL aims to provide easy-to-set-up, low-cost robots that will reduce the need for manufacturing companies to make substantial investments in tools and structures to handle flexible materials. Shadow Robot is a lead for improving robot grasping and manipulation so that the industry can move towards a multi-purposed approach, particularly within the following three use cases:
Blower assembling
Electronics- Handling of flexible circuits
Pillow Production – Plastics and polyurethanes in the textile industry
This will allow manufacturing companies to have a robot fit-for-purpose when it comes to handling flexible materials without having to spend lots of time and money reconfiguring robotics systems.
