About You

You are an experienced and highly capable Engineering Project Manager with a proven track record in fast-paced, iterative technology development, ideally within robotics or similar electromechanical fields.

You excel at coordinating expert engineering teams, maximising their productivity and ensuring project goals are met.

Your strong problem-solving skills enable you to proactively identify and resolve complex engineering challenges.

You are comfortable with line management responsibilities and possess excellent communication, people management, and leadership skills, making you a trusted and respected figure for both internal teams and external partners.

You have a thorough understanding of project management methodologies, including risk analysis, budgeting, resourcing, and detailed planning.

You'll work for the Head of Product Development and together, optimising the running of the engineering team at Shadow.

Act as the crucial bridge between our hardware and software engineering teams, fostering seamless collaboration.

Ensure all projects are managed in line with the company’s business goals, contributing directly to our strategic development.

Apply your expertise in project management, including risk analysis, budgeting, resourcing, and detailed work planning (Gantt charts), to ensure smooth project execution.

Take accountability for project/product requirements identification, tracking, and validation, from TRL1-5 development stages.

Utilise your strong problem-solving capabilities to navigate and overcome complex engineering challenges.

Effectively manage line responsibilities, fostering a productive and positive team environment.

If you have these Must-Have skills and experience, we’d love to hear from you:

Experience managing engineering teams doing fast-paced iterative technology development (in robotics or similar electromechanical technology development).

Strong problem-solving capabilities with engineering challenges.

Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.

Comfortable with line management responsibilities.

Strong communication skills for team and client/partner management.

Excellent people management and leadership skills – you’re likeable and respected, and have good emotional intelligence and self-awareness.

Thorough understanding of project management such as risk analysis, budgeting, resourcing, project planning, work planning (Gantt chart), reporting, forecasting of activities.

Experience of project/product requirements identification, tracking and validation.

Experience with TRL1-5 development.

Numerate (budgets and project finance tracking).

There are a few Nice-to-Have skills and experience:

Experience within a Scrum/Agile environment and Jira platform.

Ability to facilitate development of technology roadmaps in line with business goals.

Experience of Machine Learning.

Job title: Robotics Design Electronics Engineer

The office is conveniently located in Gospel Oak, London, just a 2-minute walk from the Overground station.

Competitive salary of £65,000 to £75,000 p.a.

12-month fixed-term PAYE contract.

Our comprehensive package includes a Contribution Pension Scheme, 28 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, and an Employee Assistance Programme.

Interviews with our Embedded Talent Partner, Helen Sanders, will be in early July.

Video and then in-person Interviews with our team will start the week beginning Monday July 21st.

We’d ideally love someone to have started with the team by the end of August.
